New website and blog.

Monday, April 12th, 2010

As mentioned in a previous note, I am in the process of phasing out the name SO-AD. A few people have asked “why now?” and have offered excellent advice. The primary reason is that SO-AD was a group of people. Through its 9 year (wow!) life, SO-AD grew and shrank, shed and added people, and transitioned from a big idea to a solid small studio. Today, SO-AD is essentially just me. Jason Morris continues to work on exciting projects in Pittsburgh, including the final project that we began together, a single family house crafted out of a building that originally housed a trolley car depot. Jason is also teaching a variety of classes at Carnegie Mellon, while also assembling an army of adorable blond-haired, blue-eyed sons. Jason and I remain great friends and I look forward to working on projects with him again in the future.

So, let the shift occur. The SO-AD URL will remain, but it will soon redirect to my new website: http://burnsdavid.com. And this blog will now live here: http://burnsdavid.com/blog. I hope you will all follow me there….

All the best,
David

At the risk of over-exposure, I’d like to remind you about CO-ISOLATED. The show is a one-night (plus symposium) affair, so we’ll see you on Friday April 16th, no? For a detailed map, click here.

We’ve just confirmed that renowned Australian sculptor Ken Unsworth will open the show Friday. Also, the symposium panel for Saturday now includes Andrew Benjamin, Adam Geczy, Adam Jasper along with Adrian Lahoud and Tarsha Finney.
